St. Gregory Armenian Catholic Church is one of only 2 Armenian Catholic churches in California (other in Los Angeles), and one of only 7 in all of the US. The church was built and consecrated in 2001, and was awarded the Glendale Urban Design Achievement (GUDA) Award by the city's Planning Department in 2005 for the most architecturally creative institutional building design. Of the handful of Armenian churches in Glendale, St. Gregory is probably the most beautiful, and undoubtedly the most representative of classical Armenian church structure.
