Opened in October of 2008, Hatsavan Bakery & Cafe is one of Glendale's newest additions to the ever-growing plethora of Armenian bakeries (and banquet halls—ironically of which Hatsavan is right next to one) in the city. So named after a small village in Armenia by the same name, Hatsavan churns out some very tasty and unique pastries and cakes. Although lacking in its variety of pastries due to its small size, Hatsavan more than makes up for this through the amazing taste of what it does have. Try their cheese-filled boeregs, which are truly amazing and different from any other boereg you may have tried, or one of their walnut cookies which are delicious down to the last bite. Hatsavan also has a large selection of homemade cakes which are ideal for any occasion. And in case you aren't sure what to get, the bakery is run by a warm and friendly husband and wife team who are more than willing to offer suggestions of what is best to try.
