St Vartan Park

2nd Ave and E 36th St
New York, NY 10016    Map

Opened in 1904 as St. Gabriel's Park, the park was renamed to St. Vartan Park in 1978 as it is adjacent to St. Vartan Cathedral. This name change also brought the church and its beautiful classical Armenian architecture to light for many New Yorker's who would have previously passed on the church as just another building.

Although carrying the same name, the park is still city property and is not owned or operated by the Church.
