Almayass opened its doors in New York City in April 2012 after having opened a number of other branches of its restaurant in the Middle East. The restaurant coins itself as Lebanese-Armenian, and its menu reflects this with most dishes being of Lebanese decent, with a handful of Armenian items in between.
Almayass originally started in 1996 with the opening of the its first restaurant in Beirut. Currently the restaurant has a number of locations including Beirut, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Abu Dhabi.
Similar to all of the other locations, the New York City location has a very modern decor with many Armenian and Lebanese themed works of art.
