Established in 1976, the Organization of Istanbul Armenians is a non-profit organization with the purpose of preserving Armenian history and culture, providing scholarships to Armenian students, encouraging athletic endeavors, and providing help to Armenian families. In the early days, the organization operated out of the St. Sarkis Armenian Apostolic Church (originally in Los Angeles, but now relocated to Newhall, CA), but moved to the San Fernando Valley in 1985, and then once again to its current location in 1992.
