Calvary Armenian Church was officially organized in 1926 and went through a few buildings over the years until finally landing in their existing Park Merced neighborhood location in 1983. The church is part of the Armenian Evangelical Union of North America (AEUNA).
Although not an Apostolic church, the Calvary Church is still built with a strong Armenian motif, including a Khach Kar on the altar, the traditional Armenian church cupola, and frieze design.
