First Armenian Presbyterian Church was the first Armenian church (of any denomination) organized in California. The church group was formally organized in 1897 even though no actual church structure existed and the congregation met in an American church. The original church was built in 1905, but due to the ever-increasing congregation size, the church moved to a newly built building in 1976, which is still its current home.
