From the outside, Moonlight Pizza & Chicken looks like any other pizzeria that one may run into—and entering the inside doesn't change one's perception either. Simple chairs and tables line up the restaurant, with a big screen TV usually tuned to a sporting event. It's only when you walk up to the counter to place your order for pizza that you realize that Moonlight Pizza and Chicken has something special. For beginners, next to the ordering counter is an all-you-can-eat food buffet. But don't expect buffalo chicken wings and Caesar salad here; the buffet consists of all Armenian and Middle-Eastern foods: hummus, babaghanoush, chicken kabob, lebni, and many other yummy treats. If you want to order pizza, you've got your typical toppings to choose from, as well as soujouk (a dry, spicy beef) and the restaurant's specialty of rotisserie chicken (which can also be ordered separately).
Moonlight Pizza & Chicken is a must try if you are in the Orange County area. And even better if you are with non-Armenian friends or co-workers because the buffet is a feast that just about anyone will find something that they like.
