The Armenian Apostolic church of Toronto was officially organized in 1928 with a small community of Armenians. At the time, the congregation did not own their own church structure, and instead shared with Church of the Holy Trinity in Toronto. Finally in 1953 after collecting enough funds, a new structure was built in Scarborough (part of Toronto) where majority of the Armenians lived at the time. The church was the first Armenian church in Toronto and was named Holy Trinity Armenian Church (Diocese) in honor of the Church of the Holy Trinity for their generosity in sharing their facilities with the Armenian Apostolic church for so many years.
By the 1980s the congregation had outgrown its church structure and was looking to move to a larger building. In 1986 a new and larger church building was built and consecrated and serves as the church's building today.
